Discussions during the engagement focused on sector-wide priorities, including the need for effective regulatory frameworks and enforcement, improved quality assurance systems, and increased investment in training, resources, and capacity building for fish farmers and aquatic animal health professionals.

Mr. Jacques Magnee underscored the importance of reliable local access to key fish-feed ingredients such as maize and soya, noting that dependence on imports raises fish feed costs.

Dr. Tetteh noted that addressing challenges within the sector requires a collective approach, involving industry players, government institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

“The transformation of the aquaculture industry is a shared responsibility. No single institution can do it alone; collaboration is critical,” he stated.

Mr. Jacob Adzikah explained that the engagement was part of the Chamber’s SAFENET initiative, which focuses on listening to stakeholders’ concerns and working collaboratively to address them.

“This visit is part of our commitment to engage industry players, listen to their concerns, and identify practical ways to strengthen the sector,” he said.

The meeting concluded with the Chamber expressing appreciation to Raanan Fish Feed for the support extended to the Chamber during the Aquaculture Ghana 2025 event.

Both parties also expressed optimism about fostering stronger collaboration going forward, including working with government to enhance standards, checks, and balances across the industry.
